Blackhawk Golf Club #7 Spruce Grove, Alberta Canada

575 Yards Par 5
This hole is Abandon Well, 575 yards long with a forced carry of 120 yards to a tight fairway. If you happen to bomb a drive and catch the down slope to the lower half of the fairway, you are rewarded with a lengthy approach to the green on your second shot. If you remain in the saddle of the fairway you're faced with central bunkers to approach the green. If the hole is on the right of the green, the best approach is from the left side of the central bunker complex. If the pin is on the left side of the green, the best approach is from the right side of the central bunker complex. If you happen to miss either side, you will be penalized with some nasty bunkers with large lips and long grass. This is the best risk/reward hole at Blackhawk. The green has some terrific slopes. It drains in three different directions but also slopes away from you. If you are short on your approach, the small pot bunker in front is extremely difficult to exit as you cannot see the green surface. There are many birdies and triple bogies on this hole.
