The Ledges Golf Club #18 York, Maine

618 Yards Par 5
The par five18th at The Ledges Golf Club in York, Maine is known regionally as one of the most demanding golf holes in New England. Golf Styles New England rated #18 as the toughest finishing hole in NE. From the back tees it measures 618 yards. This demanding tee shots requires a forced carry of about 230 yards from an elevated tee to a small ribbon of fairway with water on both sides. There is simply no bailout. We've hosted mini-tour events, PGA chapter and section events, and a US AM qualifier rarely used due to its difficulty. The second shot leaves you with two options: 1)Challenge the hazard which spans the entire width of the whole at the corner of the dogleg (230 yard carry) or (2) lay up short of the hazard leaving a 200 yard approach up the hill to a two tiered green. Once you've reached the green your job is not done. #18 at The Ledges Golf Club will test the nerves of anyone trying to finish off a good round as the undulating green will present a difficult two-putt.
