Is John Deere engine oil preferred over regular oil?
Yes, John Deere engine oils are developed specifically for use in John Deere engines and are rigorously tested to meet and exceed the off-road specifications of our equipment.
This means our oils are designed to perform best in a wide range of tough conditions, including off-road equipment with higher loads and fuel consumption, minimal cooling airflow, and regular exposure to dust, moisture, and agricultural chemicals.
Competitive engine oils are best used in general, on-road equipment towing lower loads, using less fuel, and operating in clean environments.
Can I use the same engine oil year-round?
Yes, oils like John Deere Plus-50™ II SAE 15W-40 provide excellent protection in hot and cold conditions, eliminating the need to change oil grades seasonally. Be sure to check your Operator's Manual for the recommended oil viscosity in your specific temperature range before choosing an engine oil.
