John Deere Military Hiring Program
.
Giving back to those who have served.
The John Deere Military Hiring Program in the United States is an initiative that offers career support for transitioning servicemembers, veterans, military spouses, National Guard, reservists, and eligible military dependents. Within the program, John Deere is also an approved DOD SkillBridge partner that allows transitioning servicemembers to participate in a civilian internship for up to 180 days before they separate.
John Deere dealerships in the United States are also covered under the partnership, allowing them to participate in this groundbreaking program. The many dealership locations across the country provide military families with many options. They have a variety of career areas that many military professions can translate into, ranging from entry-level technician roles to management positions.
Participating dealerships have been highly supportive of the program and are always excited to bring on military talent because they understand the multifaceted and team-oriented employee they will be gaining.
Air Force Chief, Douglas Berry, just wanted to continue being part of a team and requested a technician internship. The dealership immediately recognized his 20+ years of experience and elevated his position to a Service Writer.
Similarly, Darrell Toler, an E-5 ground support mechanic, hoped to become an agriculture equipment service technician. The dealership took him under their wing and converted his skills during his internship.
This program and John Deere's dealerships help servicemembers of all ranks gain fulfilling careers within the John Deere network. It is a win-win for both the transitioning servicemembers and the John Deere dealerships. ‡
