Outstanding Farmers of America

John Deere supports farmers passionate about agriculture.

The Outstanding Farmers of America (OFA) is a prestigious organization that provides networking and mentorship opportunities for ag professionals across the U.S. With over 1,200 dedicated farmer members, the OFA plays a critical role in fostering excellence, collaboration, and community involvement within the ag industry.

Each year, the OFA recognizes couples under the age of 40 who are active in their community, have made outstanding achievements in agriculture, and are committed to sustainability. This elite group of ten couples are recognized as National Outstanding Young Farmers of America (NOYF). Nominations are submitted and an independent judging panel narrows the field to ten semi-finalists, pictured below.

In February 2024, they were flown to Bellingham, Wash., to attend the 68th Annual OFA Convention. After in-person interviews by a judging panel, four farming families were awarded National Outstanding Young Farmers of the year status at the closing banquet.

"I was recognized as a national outstanding young farmer in 2006," said current OFA President Don Hartman. "It never gets old to see young farmers be recognized for their hard work and dedication to something we are all passionate about." John Deere has sponsored the OFA since 1976.

"Sponsoring the OFA is a smart investment for John Deere. John Deere has a role in helping produce food, fiber, fuel, and infrastructure. Members of the OFA do the same thing," said Jarah Hauger, John Deere's industry relations manager. By working together to inspire the next generation of farmers, the legacy of American farming will continue. For additional information, visit www.outstandingfarmers.com. ‡
