Engine and Transmission Options
With rated engine horsepower up to 350 hp, the 7R Tractors, powered by John Deere PowerTech™ 6.8L and 9.0L engines, offer maximum performance in the field and during transport. They do it all while delivering outstanding fluid economy.
Engine Options
John Deere PowerTech™ 9.0L Engine
The 7R 290, 7R 310, 7R 330 and 7R 350 Tractors are built with the John Deere PowerTech 9.0L Engine. The field-proven variable geometry single-turbocharger actuates the turbo vanes as required to provide more consistent engine boost pressure and the ability to respond to load quickly across the engine rpm range. The benefits: Increased low rpm torque, quicker response to load, increased peak torque, improved fuel economy, and improved performance at high altitudes.
John Deere PowerTech™ 6.8L Engine
The 7R 210 features a John Deere PowerTech 6.8L engine with a single variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) that provides torque rise and engine responsiveness to meet varying load conditions. The 7R 230, 7R 250 and 7R 270 Tractors utilize the John Deere PowerTech 6.8L engine. With two turbochargers – a VGT and fixed geometry turbocharger, you’ll benefit from increased low rpm torque, quicker response to load, increased peak torque, improved fuel economy and improved performance at high altitudes.
Emissions Control
Our integrated Emissions Control system consists of a cooled EGR, a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), diesel particulate filter (DPF), and a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system — all specifically designed to meet the rigorous demands of agricultural applications. This seamlessly integrated solution can use less diesel fuel and DEF for total fluid economy.
Cooling System
The cooling system delivers even in harsh operating conditions. It limits dirt and debris buildup, operates at a reduced noise level, and offers easy serviceability.
Transmission Options
e23™ PowerShift™ Transmission
The e23™ PowerShift Transmission option with Efficiency Manager™ pairs the benefits of a mechanical transmission with the ease of an Infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT™). The transmission has 23 forward gears evenly spaced 15% apart to provide a wide speed range to complement different operating conditions and implements. The spacing also provides smooth shift quality which helps improve ride quality and helps maintain maximum ground speed at reduced engine rpms to save fuel. The e23 also provides 11 reverse selections with a 30% speed change between gears. The e23 is available on models 7R 210 through 7R 330.
Infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT™)
The IVT gives you the best in performance and operation. The IVT operates similarly to the traditional gear-up and throttle-back operation performed manually with other transmissions. A single lever lets you move smoothly from 0 to 26 or 31 mph (40 or 50 km/h) ... and any speed in between. Dial in a specific ground speed and the transmission and engine work together to keep the tractor there, instantly responding to changing load conditions. The IVT is available on models 7R 210 through 7R 350. Get the ultimate in control by going with optional CommandPRO™ Control.
