At the heart of Chayé Hnos. is a passion for agriculture that goes beyond yields. For their 100-member team, success means nurturing the land, supporting local communities, and uplifting farmers. As a longstanding John Deere dealer, Chayé Hnos. has consistently supported farmers in transitioning towards more sustainable agricultural practices with unique, tailored solutions. Today, its John Deere-powered multi-purpose generator sets for pivot irrigation are enhancing water efficiency and crop production across Argentina.

Powered Solutions by Chayé
Many Chayé Hnos. customers are leading manufacturers of frozen potato specialties, dedicated to advancing sustainable farming in Argentina. Their efforts help create sustainable livelihoods for local farmers and prosperity in the region.

"It's all about producing higher yields with less water. In this area, farmers prefer pivot irrigation systems due to their 90% water efficiency," says Ezequiel Chayé, Managing Director of the company's Powered Solutions branch.

Irrigation is essential for growing potatoes, which pass through four key stages: vegetative growth, tuber initiation, tuber bulking, and tuber maturation. The tuber bulking stage, lasting up to 90 days, demands consistent water and nutrients.

"During this critical time, our generator set operates nonstop, making reliable equipment and a dependable service team indispensable," says Chayé.

Chayé Hnos.'s dual-purpose generator set improves irrigation efficiency by powering both the irrigation pivots and the pumping systems for water drilling and spraying. The gimbal-jointed pumping head ensures even water distribution to the sprayers. Available in two models, powered by John Deere 4.5L and 6.8L industrial engines, the generator is supported by comprehensive training and after-sales support, ensuring reliability and efficiency around the clock.

"Working with local farmers and larger producers, we recognized their need for personalized support and solutions, which is why we set up a dedicated division and brand: Powered Solutions by Chayé," says Chayé. "Our team of four, soon to expand, develops our solutions from concept to execution, managing engineering, supplier selection, and the production of self-manufactured components. When clients choose us for their irrigation systems, they trust in the quality anchored by a John Deere engine, the robustness of all the equipment, applied safety, meticulous engineering, and comprehensive after-sales support."

Currently, all customized solutions are marketed through the Chayé Hnos. sales channel since the customer for this product is niche.

"This year, we intend to add a new sales channel of small multi-brand distributors to cover all provinces where irrigation pivots are used, including Buenos Aires, Córdoba, and Tucumán," Chayé highlights.

Milestones in Generator Set Innovation
Chayé Hnos., based in Balcarce in the Buenos Aires Province of Argentina, is one of six certified John Deere dealers in the region.

"We represent multiple John Deere product branches, including Agriculture, Construction & Forestry, and John Deere Power Systems (JDPS). Our journey began in 2003 when my father and uncle founded Chayé Hnos. as a John Deere dealer in the southeast of Buenos Aires. Over the years, our family has poured our hearts and souls into building a business that goes beyond mere transactions. We've cultivated deep-rooted relationships with our clients, forged through trust, reliability, and a shared commitment to excellence. Today, my dad, three siblings, and I work together in the company.

In 2020, we celebrated a major milestone by unveiling our first prototype generator sets powered by John Deere engines. This innovation filled a crucial gap in the region, delivering exceptional functionality and quality. We took pride in developing our own assembly line, crafting automotive components, and installing the John Deere industrial engines ourselves. Additionally, we launched a specialized rental service for the potato industry, providing not only rental equipment but also comprehensive after-sales support during the critical irrigation phase.

By 2021, we had scaled up our production to keep pace with soaring demand. The following year, we introduced pre-configured kits designed for various agricultural applications, including generator sets, featuring both 4.5L and 6.8L John Deere engines.

In 2023, we reached a new level of innovation by integrating John Deere telematics into our equipment, allowing for advanced remote monitoring and enhanced connectivity.

Looking ahead to 2024, we're thrilled about groundbreaking developments on the horizon. Our upcoming partnership with a metallurgy supplier will expand our reach into new agribusiness sectors. We can't wait to share these exciting advancements!" says Chayé.

A Clear Vision
"We believe in taking care of our planet and our community in everything we do," continues Chayé. "From adopting renewable energy to managing waste responsibly and supporting local initiatives, we're committed to building a sustainable and inclusive future for everyone.

Looking ahead, our vision for Powered Solutions by Chayé Hnos. is straightforward: to set the standard in the region for innovative, high-quality solutions that help agribusinesses thrive. With the unwavering support of our loyal customers, dedicated team, and trusted partners, I'm confident that together, we'll make this vision a reality and achieve even more."
